This is the personal website of Dominik Grafenhofer. I am a second-year econ PhD Student at the Toulouse School of Economics (Université Toulouse 1). I am also taking part in a post-graduate program in Economics at the Institut für höhere Studien (Institute for Advanced Studies) in Vienna, and I am studying towards a bachelor degree in applied mathematics (Technische Mathematik) at the Johannes Kepler Universität Linz (my alma mater). During my undergraduate studies in economics I took part in a research project on "Public Finance, Unemployment, and Growth: Policy Analysis with a Dynamic General Equilibrium Model for Austria" funded by the FWF (Austrian science fund).

My personal interests are quite varied: politics, economics, philosophy, mathematics, and physics. I spend my spare time - a scarce resource - reading books, newspapers, and magazines, watching movies, going out with friends, and traveling. I am also quite addicted to everything related to computers.

My special interest concerning computers is Linux which is a really interesting operating system, especially if you want to have more control over your computer than you would get with alternatives like MS Windows or Mac OS. Apart from being an operating system for enthusiasts, Linux is getting closer to be a viable alternative for desktop users. You can find out more about this topic in the section about Linux. There you can find lots of Linux related links, and some RPM-packages prepared by me for one of my favorite Linux distribution Mandriva Linux.

Last but not least I would like to mention some of my experiments with language. During my time at grammar school in Freistadt, Austria I wrote together with two friends some rather unconventional poems and texts. If you are interested in experimental lyrics, you might find the section about dAdA interesting or at least amusing (sorry, in German only).
